The one bummer is it has 124 grain bullets vs. ammo and my loads out of the Ransom Rest, but my scores really didn't take a huge jump. This was the only factory ammo I had on me, and I wanted to shoot it to have some sort of baseline comparison. It shot very well with Atlanta Arms 115 gr. My groups usually ran 4" at 50 yards from a Ransom Rest. Major companies have made 9mm target pistols, such as the SIG P210 and Smith & Wesson 952, and custom gunmakers transform 9mm pistols into laser-accurate target guns. A well-tuned pistol can produce very small groups, in the range of 10 shots in 1 inch at 50 yards. I never could get my gun to group that well with the various brands I tried. This is not to say that the 9mm Luger isnt capable of precision accuracy. When I was trying for my Distinguished Pistol Badge, I was shooting factory ball ammo in. During that time it’s been used in various types of pistols, revolvers, carbines, and submachine guns. I once shot a match with David Glenn from Illinois, who shot a Springfield Armory custom shop 1911, chambered in 9mm. So I have my basic 9mm load recipe for a plinking/target load. The top shooters on the military teams don't have any trouble shooting scores in the high 280's with their accurized Berettas. I've gotten great accuracy out of a Kidd Beretta. I would say that the rules for 9x19 will change in the next 5 years (bullet weight/powder/twist rate/etc.) as the round is used in Bullseye-but I think that I will still be shooting.

In general, I have found 0.356-0.357" jacketed bullets to be more accurate than 0.355" bullets, even in 0.355" groove-diameter barrels. 38 Super 121gn JHP, though 115gn L-SWCs come close. Silhouette is second best.įor bullets, the best I have found is the Zero. I have found any powder faster than AA5 to not perform well (where all I am looking for is <2" at 25 yards).
